Hi! I’m Brandi Shipman. I am a single mother of two children as well as a new grandmother! I am currently a Registered Nurse with a compact license to practice in several states. I have been in the medical field for over 15 years. I started my healthcare career in 2009 as a Certified Medical Assistant. After working as a CMA for over 10 years and knowing that caring for others was my passion, I decided to further my medical career and become a nurse. I graduated from Middle Georgia State University in Dublin, GA during the start of COVID in 2020. Yes, I was thrown into some trying times and situations, but it was then that I realized just how well I worked under pressure. Being a new nurse, in a new hospital, on a busy Med-Surg/Telemetry floor, with a new virus running rampant was not easy, but I am forever grateful for the skills I learned and the many people I met. After working for two years in my small hometown of Dublin, GA, I decided to become a travel nurse. That time taught me to lead with compassion, show everyone the same respect and love as I would want to be shown to me and my loved ones, how to work effectively with individuals from different backgrounds, and to meet everyone where they are. There were times when patients would cry and other times when they would fight. Both times, I made sure to give them the best care possible. I realized that these patients were probably going through the worse time of their lives...feeling helpless, scared and alone. I made it my business to make sure my patients never felt alone or neglected. I am resourceful to others just from my travel contracts alone because I was able to network and socialize with so many different companies and individuals with whom I have built long-lasting relationships and connections with. I have always enjoyed working with children as well. I am the friend that always has a house full of children because I am passionate about young growing minds and feel children should always have a safe space. So, if I can offer just that then that is what I do. I have been a member of the youth board at my church for several years and love to nurture young people from different walks of life. I have always wanted to be a part of an organization that helps make a difference in people’s lives, especially single mothers and children.
